Silver has always been sort of “my baby!” This update looks at three silver charts, a 5-Hour, a 30-Minute and a 1-Day, and at how a nested Molokai Setup is built.
Silver, Then and Now
I made my first trade in silver in 1973 and had a decent piece of the Hunt Brothers’ runaway market in 1979-80. As per my previous post, I believe we will see $150/oz. to $175/oz. before too much more time has passed. You may want to read my earlier Hi-Yo Silver post from last year here on Substack.
But it is a tricky and sometimes frustrating market. Silver played with us like children from 1975 to 1979 before deciding to run! Those were frustrating years but, in the end, there was a nice payoff for our efforts.
I see silver today playing the same games. Right now, I think we are already in the 1979 phase, and the first run to $75.00/oz. could occur this year.
Here are three silver charts with my short analysis.
The 5-Hour Chart
This is the 5-Hour chart. A very nice Molokai Setup, though the Counts are off a little. The red arrow is the entry. But wait, there’s more!

The 30-Minute Chart
Here is the 30-Minute chart. A small Molokai, so we have the well-respected Molokai-Molokai NEST. If you look very closely by the red arrow, I would bet there is a mini-Molokai at the 5-Minute level, indicating a Double Nest. There is also fairly nice white space in the Setup.

The 1-Day Chart
Finally, here is the 1-Day chart. The Jumbo Count is just slightly off. Generally, I will consider half a square close enough to call it a cancel, especially when there are other factors like the M-M Nest to qualify the trade.

Charlie says: no single factor can make or break a trade candidate. It is always the balance of positive and negative factors, the preponderance of evidence.
TIP: Setups are buyer-seller struggles. Often the Setup doesn’t jump out and grab you visually. You must train yourself to follow the bars as the buyer-seller struggle proceeds. See my recent post on Charlie and Charts.
